About Gynecologic Oncology
Gynecologic Oncology involves the diagnosis and treatment of women with tumors of the uterus, cervix, ovary, or Fallopian tube, as well as other, less common cancers of the peritoneum, vulva or vagina. RAS' gynecologic oncologists offer several surgical treatment options of various disease states. They also work closely with colleagues in medical oncology and radiation oncology to determine the best approach of care for each patient’s needs. Additionally, our gynecologic oncologists often consult on difficult cases or disease states other than cancer. Our physicians may also offer a role in caring for patients being treated for tumors of other systems, such as the breast or gastrointestinal tract, when issues arise with pelvic anatomy or gynecologic cancer care is compromised.
