RAS has been serving the greater Sacramento area since 1917.
What does a Radiological Technologist do?
Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, radiographic technique, take radiographic images (x-rays) of the human anatomy. Possess ability to effectively communicate to patients, other health professionals, and the public.
What is a Radiological Technologist?
Radiographers use radiation equipment to produce images of the tissues, organs, bones, and vessels of the body, as prescribed by physicians, to assist in the diagnosis of disease or injury. Radiographers' goals are to provide quality patient care, and particularly concerned with limiting radiation exposure to patients, themselves, and others. Use problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to perform medical imaging procedures by adapting variable technical parameters of the procedure to the condition of the patient.
What is RAS' connection to the hospitals in town?
RAS has professional contracts with both Mercy and Sutter, however RAS is not part of the hospital system. RAS is a private radiology practice.
What is the structure of RAS’ leadership?
RAS operates with a President, Vice President and a Board of Directors. The President of the company is elected by the Physician Board of Directors and serves a three-year term.
Will RAS pay a newly hired employee's moving expenses?
An offer to underwrite moving expenses depends upon our employment needs. We do at times offer to help newly hired employees relocate from other cities. Check with the RAS recruiter to see if you qualify.
