What is a Radiological Technologist?
A radiological technologist is a person trained in the "art and science" of creating images of the human body. The radiologic technologist works closely with the radiologist (physician) and other physicians, and plays a vital role as a professional member of the total health care team. Technologists work in hospitals performing general radiography, fluoroscopy, and mammography exams and also operate fluoroscopy and C-Arm equipment to assist physicians in performing special procedures. Technologists also work in outpatient offices performing similar exams and procedures that they would do in a hospital. The field of Radiography is in a perpetual state of flux. The technology is always improving, so it is a continuing challenge for the technologist to stay up to date with these changes in order to continue making a difference in the lives of his or her patients.

What does a Radiological Technologist do?
The technologist applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology, positioning, and radiographic technique to optimize radiographic images (x-rays) of the human anatomy. He/she possesses the ability to effectively communicate with patients, other health professionals, and the public.
