Established in 1917, Radiological Associates of Sacramento (RAS) offers an advanced array of diagnostic technologies and radiation oncology services through a network of 23 facilities throughout the greater Sacramento region.

SACRAMENTO CANCER TREATMENT: RADIOLOGICAL ASSOCIATES SACRAMENTO RADIOLOGY - RAS is a full member of the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG). RAS Sacramento radiologists interpret studies and perform procedures at Five area Sutter Hospitals: Sutter General Hospital, Sutter Davis Hospital, Sutter Memorial Hospital, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital and Sutter Roseville Medical Center. RAS is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. RAS participates in clinical research trials sponsored by the Pediatric Oncology Group (POG) pediatric cancer program. Providing local cancer patients with highly sophisticated radiation treatment and new treatments such as monoclonal anti- bodies. Yolo County, Davis, Woodland, Vacaville, Elk Grove and Laguna patients have access to highly-experienced radiation oncologists located in Auburn, Cameron Park, Roseville, Carmichael and Sacramento County. Folsom Imaging is located across from Mercy Hospital; serving Folsom, Rancho Cordova, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park and Placer County. Careers in radiology include: Radiation Oncologist, Radiation Therapist and teleradiology.

Radiation therapy is available in the Radiation Oncology Center at Sutter Cancer Center. An RAS Radiation Oncology Center is located in the Mercy Cancer Center in Carmichael and also in the Sutter Roseville Cancer Center in Roseville. Fort Sutter Diagnostic Imaging provides Fluoroscopy and Routine Diagnostic Radiology. 29th Street Sacramento MRI provides breast MRI services. Capitol Imaging provides Computed tomography (CT or cat scan) simulator, MRI, Open MRI, Ultrasound, DEXASCAN, Interventional Radiology, diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, Coronary CTA and Vascular Ultrasound services. Sutter Gamma Knife Radiosurgery Center physicians are able to operate on the brain with minimal risk of surgical complications. Stereotactic radiosurgery is a treatment for many types of brain tumors. CT, PET, and nuclear medicine are technologies that generate images of the internal structures.

RAS offers osteoporosis screening, radiation oncology services such as radiotherapy, low dose brachytherapy, high dose brachytherapy, 3-D conformal therapy with a linear accelerator, comprehensive treatment planning, interstitial brachytherapy and intracavitary brachytherapy. High-dose rate remote afterloading (HDR). RAS is first in the US to treat prostate cancer with Beacon® transponder technology. Prostate Cancer may be treated with prostate seed implant. RAS is actively participating in clinical trials for genitourinary cancer protocols. MRA is a non-invasive alternative to conventional X-ray-based angiography. A nuclear medicine bone scan is used to evaluate bone abnormalities. Treadmill Cardiolite Stress Test and coincidence imaging. An OB ultrasound produces images of the body’s internal organs. A barium enema (BE) is a diagnostic X-ray examination of the colon. A barium esophagram is also called a barium swallow. Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA) is a way of examining small arteries that feed the heart. Vertebroplasty can increase the patient's functional abilities.

Roseville Breast Center - MQSA mammorgam and woman's health care: Diagnostic mammography is a comprehensive Sacramento x-ray examination for women with symptoms of breast disease. It is also used to further evaluate problematic areas detected on screening mammography. Mammotest: Stereotactic breast biopsy is a revolutionary alternative to surgical core biopsy. Some RAS radiologists have special training in central nervous system tumors, neurointerventional radiology or gynecologic cancer treatment (GYN cancer treatment) and are affiliated with a gynecologic oncology group, El Dorado County Medical Society and the American College of Radiology (ACR). IMRT is particularly applicable to treatment of prostate cancer, head and neck cancer, thyroid cancer, brain cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, liver and pelvis cancer, as well as lymphoma and sarcoma. IORT is valuable in gastrointestinal cancer treatment. Total Body Irradiation (TBI), opencare and external beam treatment.
